ViroReal® RSV (A & B)

ViroReal RSVRTGM gr├╝n RNA

Background: Human respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is a negative-sense, single-stranded RNA virus (ss(-)RNA) of the family Paramyxoviridae. RSV causes respiratory tract infections and is a major cause of lower respiratory tract infections and hospital visits during infancy and childhood. In addition, RSV is recognized as an important cause of respiratory illness in older adults. RSV consists of two antigenic subtypes, A and B. Infection is most common during the winter and early spring e.g. in the rainy season.

ViroReal® RSV (A & B) is a detection assay for rapid and sensitive detection of RNA of the human respiratory syncytial virus of both subtypes A & B by reverse transcription real-time PCR.

Also available as CE-IVD certified kitversion: ViroReal® Kit RSV (A & B)

Internal Positive Control (IPC) ÔÇô not included, optional: For control of RNA extraction and exclusion of false-negative interpretation of results caused by inhibition of reverse transcription and real-time PCR an ingenetix Internal Positive RNA Control Assay can be optionally performed in a multiplex PCR, depending on the PCR-platform. Internal Positive RNA Control Assays (order no. RTGMIPCR1, 2 or 3) contain primers, a probe and an internal control RNA target in an extra tube. See product description.

ViroReal® Assays detecting viral RNA are optimized to run under the same thermal cycling conditions and with the same amplification mix.
