Background: Ornithobacterium rhinotracheale (ORT) is a gram-negative bacterium causing respiratory disease in turkeys, chickens and other avian species. Clinical signs are nasal discharge, sneezing, coughing and sinusitis. Ornithobacterium rhinotracheale is currently the only species within the Ornithobacterium genus and is found worldwide.

BactoReal® Ornithobacterium rhinotracheale is a detection assay for rapid and sensitive detection of DNA of Ornithobacterium rhinotracheale by real-time PCR.
